In this example of a Build-to-Inventory manufacturing business, there is a time displacement between product forecasting, producing and ordering. This requires that the original Product Ordering / Resource Ordering core process be split into three core processes:
  1. Product Forecasting / Resource Ordering
  2. Product Producing / Resource Delivering
  3. Product Ordering
The first process establishes a forecast and delivery contract with suppliers.

The second process delivers the resources and produces the products to inventory.

The third process fills orders for the products from inventory (and thus requires no resource action).
