The Product System has three subsystem "layers":
  • Customer Market Interface Subsystem: Establishes and sustains relationships between enterprise products and the customer market.
  • Product Package Subsystem: Customer's view of the enterprise product. Specifies what it is that the customer buys.
  • Product Infrastructure Subsystem: The structure by which the enterprise produces the product package.
The Resource System also has three subsystem "layers":
  • Resource Service Subsystem: Responds to requisitions for resources for the work performed by business functions.
  • Resource Infrastructure Subsystem: The structure by which resources are provisioned and maintained.
  • Supplier Market Interface Subsystem: Establishes and sustains relationships between enterprise resources and the supplier market.
